Unwritten Histories talk, October 2019
As part of programming for Intersectional Touch, the Center Program exhibition at the Hyde Park Art Center, I organized a talk entitled Unwritten Histories.
Unwritten Histories: Panel and Discussion led by Anne Hayden Stevens
1pm-2pm
(Muller Meeting Room)
A number of the artists in the Center Program are working with histories that are either undocumented or difficult to impossible to record. These histories are fruitful places to work for artists as they provide space for imagination rooted in stories and experience. This talk provides space for exploration of the artifacts, documents and ideas that inform the artists work. Artists Wen Liu, Elissa Osterland and Maryam Taghavi will each give a short presentation. The program will be followed by an open discussion and the opportunity to explore the artist’s work in the galleries.
Pitner Installation June 2019
In June 2019 I built a room size installation of prints for a popup installation space in a warehouse in South Evanston. The installation was up during Evanston Made, a monthlong celebration of the arts in Evanston.
